Caring expats living and working in

Dubai

are running every day in order to collect donations to be used for financing treatments for sick children whose parents aren’t able to afford the cost.

One expat who’s always enjoyed running has helped turn his passion for the sport into a way to help the less fortunate by volunteering and raising money, with his latest challenge aimed at raising money for the Al Jalila Foundation’s Farah Programme. The charity funds life-saving treatment for children afflicted with cancer, heart disease and other chronic medical issues. This isn’t the first time the good-hearted expat runner has raised much-needed cash for good causes, with his marathon two years ago resulting in $2,300 to help a young girl with a chronic disease.

This time, he’s been joined by expats from all over the world, with some running on a daily basis and others doing several laps every week. At the present time, a total of 30 runners are involved, with 20 more running in Qatar, Egypt and the UK. One Australian girl had never tried long-distance running but had worked with charities back in the home country and is now dedicating her time to help sick children in the emirate. The entire group have pledged to run for 67 days, starting on Eid al Fitr and ending on Eid al Adha, and are hoping to raise $1,500 in donations over the period.
