British expats in Spain are now calling for a UK Minister for Expats.
As a result of losing their voting rights after 15 years as expats, many Britons in Spain are calling for the cancellation of the hated 15 year disenfranchisement ruling. Just a small percentage of Britons who chose either to live their retirement years or start their own businesses in Spain will be able to vote on the 12th of this month, although the likely result of the General Election will destroy their security and wreck their lifestyles.
Should Brexit go ahead as a result of this election, expatriate Britons in EU member states will be the first to feel the full effects of their loss of rights, with EU citizens in the UK likely to be in a similar situation. Those on the front line of this politically maneuvered disaster have had no say at all in their own fates, with the majority now calling for the abolition of the 15 year ruling, even although for them it will be too little, too late.
The referendum itself is now seen as what it was – a political move to strengthen Cameron’s and his party’s position at a time when the Conservative party was highly unpopular in the country, and was never intended to result in Brexit. Many described it as playing poker with Britons’ lives, and the game since then has caused fear, grief, anger and a gamut of other emotions amongst those who’ll now be worst affected. Since the vote, the British parliament has become a house of fools, led by cynical manipulators with no concern for those they represent and a leader who is totally unfit for the job.
