HDI Appoints UK&I Director Of Motor Fleet Underwriting

HDI Global UK & Ireland has appointed Phil Healy as director of its motor fleet underwriting division.
Healy reports to Stephanie Ogden, HDI’s managing director of UK and Ireland. He takes over the role from John Shepherd, who will retire from HDI this month after 10 years with the industrial lines insurer.
“I am thrilled to appoint Phil as our director of motor fleet underwriting,” Ogden said. “Over the last decade, John has built a profitable, client-centric fleet proposition, and we are therefore incredibly sad to be saying goodbye. However, I am absolutely confident that, with Phil’s leadership, our fleet team will enter its next exciting phase of development and growth.”
With over 30 years of motor fleet insurance experience, Healy joined HDI in June 2020 as motor fleet team leader. Prior to that, he was with Aon as a placing broker in the UK and Ireland facultative motor reinsurance team. He also previously worked at major industry names such as Aviva, WTW and RSA.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to lead this fantastic team into 2023 and beyond,” Healy said. “John’s knowledge of and influence in the motor fleet insurance sector cannot be overstated, and it is a privilege to be taking over from him in this role. I look forward to building on the many successes of this team and working with our brilliant clients and broker partners, new and existing.”
