Four Seasons Opens A Stunning New Resort On The Red Sea

Earlier this year, Forbes named the best new hotel in the world as one of the resorts on the Red Sea.

Part of Saudi Arabia’s luxurious Shura Island, we can’t say we’re surprised – with gorgeous turquoise waters, incredible diving, and even an 18-hole links golf course, this development is one of the most exciting in the region.

There are 11 hotels in the pipeline for the island, three of which are already open. The latest to join their ranks? The Four Seasons Resort and Residences Red Sea at Shura Island, which will welcome guests from 20 May.

Found on the secluded eastern tip of the island, the resort is encircled by the sea on three sides and features a 1.3 kilometre beach.

If you’re more of a pool person, there are three to choose from: One for families, one for adults, and a lap pool at The Spa.

Speaking of The Spa, here you’ll find a traditional hammam, a hydrotherapy pool and gym, as well as rooms for treatments inspired by water, salt, coral and plants.

The resort features 31 residences as well as 149 rooms and suites with garden or sea views, plus beachfront options. The grand sea-view suite and presidential suite both boast private plunge pools, too.

All rooms and suites feature sliding glass walls that fully open to the outdoors, and they are set in clusters which are meant to resemble ancient desert trade caravans.

That theme continues through outdoor fire pits and communal spaces, and the whole experience is meant to remind guests of a chic desert safari camp.

On the dining front, the resort’s all-day dining restaurant, Sea Green, focuses on plant-based dishes, Al Forn offers Levantine cuisine, and Spiaggia Restaurant and Pool is all about Italian fare enjoyed al fresco.

You can get direct flights to Red Sea International Airport, which is a 25-minute drive away, from Milan, Riyadh, Jeddah, Doha and Dubai.

The wider Red Sea destination first opened in 2023, with the first properties on Shura Island opening in 2025.

Resorts open now include The Red Sea EDITION, SLS The Red Sea and InterContinental The Red Sea Resort By IHG.

Shura Links, an 18-hole 72-par golf course, is also open.

While not directly on the island, adventure park Adrena has opened just a 20-minute drive away, complete with Saudi Arabia’s largest surf pool and other watersports options.
