A British expat in Spain is planning a 2,000 mile protest walk with the aim of challenging Nigel Farage’s millionaire backer.
The fundraising protest walk is the brainchild of Madrid resident Anthony Hogan, who’s hoping to raise £505,000, the amount donated to Farage’s Brexit Party campaign by Arron Banks, a millionaire now known as ‘the bad boy of Brexit’. Starting in Gibraltar, the amazing trek will pass though Malaga, Barcelona, Paris and Brussels before ending in Westminster, with all funds hopefully raised being given to UK political parties in support of the Remain cause.
Speaking with reporters from a local English language newspaper, Anthony explained he wanted to challenge the lies in support of the Brexit agenda, all of which threaten the lives of Britons retiring and working in EU member states as well as posing a serious threat to Gibraltar’s security. Brexit, he believes, is all about mega-wealthy backers supporting the Leave campaign simply to make even more money out of the resulting chaos, adding he’s prepared to do whatever’s necessary to help the Remain cause.
To achieve his financial goal, the former London resident will need to raise €250 for every mile he walks during his 22-week trek. He’s genuine in his belief that campaigning is now the only way to prevent the destruction of British democracy by opportunist Brexiteers, and is prepared to face injury and heat stroke to make his views heard. Those wishing to help him realise his goal can do so by donating on his Crowdfunder page.
