VanEcks Matthew Sigel: Chances Of 2025 US Solana ETF Listing Exceed 77%

The market prediction platform Polymarket had predicted that the odds of a US Solana ETF in 2025 are 77%; however, VanEck’s research head, Matthew Sigel, pointed out that the chances could indeed be much higher.

When Polymarket posted on X that the odds of a 2025 US Solana ETF listing were 77%, accompanied by a picture of the prediction, Sigel responded that the projected odds are “underpriced.”

Sigel’s predictions are based on the current trend of increasing crypto ETF listings in the US following President-elect Donald Trump’s November election win. As of today, the probability of an ETF listing has risen to approximately 86%, driven by Sigel’s expressed optimism.

Crypto pundits believe that Trump’s presidential administration will see the approval of several proposed crypto ETFs waiting to be listed in the US, especially after the US Securities and Exchange Commission reportedly raised concerns that SOL qualified as a security rather than a commodity.

It is worth mentioning that Sigel’s now-projected optimism is not at all different from his perspective in November, shortly after Trump’s election victory. Back then, Sigel reportedly shared, “I think the odds are overwhelmingly high that there will be a Solana ETF trading by the end of next year.”

With the increasing popularity of Bitcoin ETFs and Ethereum ETFs, a precedent has already been set for more crypto ETF listings. Even more so, since its launch in January 2024, Bitcoin ETFs have captured $35.24 billion in inflows. Meanwhile, gold continues to struggle since the Federal Reserve began hiking rates in 2022 to combat inflation. This shows that investors are increasingly turning to Bitcoin ETFs investments instead of gold ETFs.

Thus, given President-elect Trump’s promise to make America the crypto capital of the world and the impressive performance of Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, a Solana ETF listing might soon become one of the imminent highlights of 2025.
