With the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), Story Protocol has announced the launch of its native token $IP today on X. The main aim of this token is to change the way intellectual property (IP) is managed and monetized.

Story Protocol is a blockchain-based platform that revolutionizes intellectual property (IP) management and monetization. It’s a decentralized network which enables creators to securely and transparently own, share, and gain profit from digital assets like art, music, and literature.
How $IP Works?
$IP is the backbone of the Story Protocol’s blockchain. It will enable seamless exchange, ownership and monetization of IP assets. The token can perform serval critical functions such as
- Network Security: Validators use $IP to secure the blockchain
- Transaction Medium: $IP can be used for all transactions on the network
- Governance: Holders of $IP participate in decision-making
Tokenomics Of The $IP token
The initial supply of has been kept to be 1 billion tokens, out of these, 25% of it will be made available upon public mainnet launch. The distribution has been planned out as below and from the tokenomics presented below, it is clear that the main strategy is to reward community engagement and ecosystem development.
- Ecosystem and the community will get 38.4% of the total supply which will be used for supporting developers, community members, and users.
- Initial incentives will be rewarded to the programs that stimulate network growth which will be the 10% of the total supply.
- Founding members and employees will be rewarded 10% of the total supply.
- Early backers is reserved for initial investors and advisors which will be 21.6% of the total supply.
- Core contributors will be rewarded 20% of the total supply for the team members that contribute well to the ecosystem.
