SBFs Parents In Talks With Trump Insiders For Pardon: Sources

FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried’s (SBF) parents are in touch with lawyers and other political figures in President Donald Trump’s circle, trying to seek a pardon for son, SBF from Trump. SBF was sentenced to 25 years in prison over multiple fraud charges related to the collapse of FTX cryptocurrency exchange.

According to sources, Sam Bankman-Fried’s parents, Joseph Bankman and Barbara Fried have held meetings in recent weeks with lawyers and other individuals believed to be close to Trump to discuss the pardon issue for SBF. It is currently not known if contact has been made with the White House. SBF was previously sentenced to 25 years in prison for fraud in the FTX bankruptcy case, and his defense team has argued that his sentence was very harsh, since most FTX customers have recovered their lost funds.

Neither Bankman-Fried’s parents nor his legal team have commented on these rumors, and the White House has yet to issue any statement on the matter.

Right after taking office, Trump had pardoned darknet Silk Road creator, Ross Ulbricht, which has prompted several individuals convicted of financial crimes to send in pardon requests.

Unlike Ulbricht, who garnered support from libertarian and crypto communities(including Elon Musk, Dennis Porter ), Bankman-Fried does not enjoy similar widespread support.

Speaking of Ulbricht, he, or someone with access to his wallets, had recently lost $12 million. The mishap happened as he attempted to provide liquidity for a memecoin on Solana.
