Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced the expansion of its luxury offerings worldwide, with new openings this year in France, Maldives, Japan, and Australia among others:

Intercontinental Lyon – Hotel Dieu

Intercontinental Lyon – Hotel Dieu opened on June 4, 2019 following a massive refurbishment of the historic Grand Hôtel Dieu complex. The hotel marks the largest private transformation of a historic monument carried out in France to date.

One of the highlights of this property is the grand dome that houses the Le Dôme Bar, serving fine spirits and and light bites.

Hayman Island by Intercontinental

Nestled in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, Hayman Island by Intercontinental is accessible through either a luxury vessel, helicopter or a seaplane. The property features lavish suites, beachfront villas, lagoon and poolside rooms.

Five dining offerings will be available wherein guests can experience authentic Queensland flavours and other contemporary cuisines.

ANA Intercontinental Beppu Resorts and Spa

ANA Intercontinental Beppu Resorts and Spa is set to open its doors on August 1, 2019. Inspired by Japanese hot springs, the resort features local elements in its decor. Each guestroom has bamboo work created by the local artists and craftsmen.

The resort has an indoor bath along with an open-air bathing area where guests can enjoy the natural hot spring waters.

Intercontinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort

Opening on September 1, 2019, Intercontinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort will offer luxury residences overlooking the ocean, and comes with a private terrace and pool.

As the first and only All-Club Intercontinental experience, the resort will offer personalised services and member exclusive benefits throughout the island, including complimentary gourmet dining.

Alongside these openings, IHG will also be launching Intercontinental Phuket Resort in September 2019.
