Dining venues include the lobby bar, which has a menu of global wines and cocktails with an Icelandic twist to be enjoyed by the open-flame fireplace. The restaurant and café Tides on the ground floor is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and has an outdoor terrace and waterfront entrance. Overseen by chef Gunnar Karl Gislason, guests can enjoy modern Icelandic cuisine focused on seasonal local products and ingredients mainly cooked over an open fire.

Meanwhile, intimate bar Tolt serves cocktails using local Icelandic spirits amidst floor-to-cieling windows offering views of Harpa, and the seventh floor rooftop has a wrap-around seasonal outdoor terrace and a large fire-pit, and serves dishes such as grilled flatbreads, toasted sandwiches and salads.

Meetings and events spaces include flexible studios, a boardroom with natural light and a grand ballroom with pre-function space.

Leisure facilities include a gym and spa with three treatment rooms, a hammam, steam room, sauna and plunge pool offering hydrotherapy, plus a spa bar with snacks like volcano bread with black lava salt.

Ian Schrager, founder of Edition, commented:

“Reykjavik is a really cool, young city – perfect for our brand. We think this is Reykjavik’s time and we’re right here at the very heart of it and at the perfect time.”

“In Iceland, you’re getting to see things you won’t see anywhere else. More so than any other place in the world, it’s a real opportunity to get in touch with earth and nature and we’re proud to further expand the Edition brand in an incredible place with an incredibly exciting hotel that gives you a true sense of place.”
