Lufthansa has introduced new inflight menus in collaboration with The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts. Curated by Chef Vinod Saini, the revamped menu are served across the first, business, premium economy and economy classes onboard Lufthansa flights to and from India.

The inflight recipes are a blend of traditional Indian ingredients with a contemporary twist. This includes nutritious appetisers like roasted chicken with sunflower seeds, carrots, honey, sesame oil and mint leaf and raw mango salad.

Under mains, the menu offers martaban gosht (red meat cooked in spices and chilli), chandani murgh korma (chicken braised with yogurt or cream, water or stock) and shalgam gosht (red meat curry with turnips).

Passengers can enjoy a variety of dessert options like baked rasgulla (sweet ball-shaped dumplings) with caramel sauce and lychee/coconut rice pudding.

Recently, the airlines also added Chaayos masala tea on flights which is a blend of Assam tea, dried ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, black pepper and cloves.

Wolfgang Will, senior director, South Asia, Lufthansa Group, said, “Being a preferred partner in airline travels also means, listen to our customers’ preferences. Indian passengers are demanding more diverse and healthier culinary experiences during their travel. Our new inflight menu reflects our understanding of changing passenger preferences and reaffirms our commitment to being more Indian than you think.
