Intercontinental Hotels Group has opened its largest Holiday Inn Express property in Europe, located in the Dutch city of Amsterdam.

Holiday Inn Amsterdam North Riverside features 438 rooms, all with blackout curtains, power shower, free wifi and complimentary Express Start breakfast.

The property is situated on the northern shore of the city’s IJ waterfront, around a ten-minute drive from Amsterdam Central Station, and 25 minutes from Schiphol airport. There is also a free ferry taking visitors over to the city centre.

Facilities include communal tables in the lobby area with integrated power sockets and wireless charging capabilities, as well as a cafe and bar, a business centre and two meeting rooms.

Standard rooms start from €82 per night, and  IHG Rewards Club members can earn up to four times the normal points for stays completed by September 8.

It’s the 7th Holiday Inn Express property in the Amsterdam area – IHG also operates hotels in the Dutch capital under its Kimpton, Intercontinental, Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza brands.

Earlier this month Accor announced plans for two new properties in Amsterdam, including the first hotel under its Tribe brand in the Netherlands.

The Tribe and Mercure properties will be housed within the ‘Gare du Nord’ project in Amsterdam-North, next to the Noord station on the North-South metro  line.
