Air France has published information on its planned operations during strike action taking place tomorrow (Friday March 23).
The carrier says it will operate 70 per cent of long-haul flights, the same percentage of medium-haul services to and from Paris CDG, and 80 per cent of short-haul flights.
In a statement Air France advises customers with flight reservations on Friday to postpone their trip of change their ticket at no extra cost, and says that “close to 200,000 messages have been sent individually and in real time to inform customers due to travel on this day”.
All customers regardless of ticket type can reschedule their flight up to March 28 without charge, or opt to receive a voucher valid for one year on Air France or KLM services.
The industrial action – which co-incides with strikes by public sector workers including air traffic controllers and train drivers – has been called in a dispute over wages.
Earlier this month Air France said that “After listening to their [the union’s] demands for a 6 per cent general pay increase, management reminded them that the company’s economic and financial situation, in a particularly aggressive competitive environment, made this general pay increase impossible without jeopardizing its growth, investment and resumed recruitments”.
