AXA Framlington Shakes Up Management Of £600m UK Select Opportunities

The company said that, effective from 1 December, Chris St John has stepped down as lead manager of the fund, with Nigel Yates taking over the mandate instead.

"Chris and Nigel continue to work closely together in managing the portfolio, and there will be no changes to the investment philosophy and investment process of the fund," a spokesperson added.

St John joined the company in 2005 as a portfolio manager, while Yates became an equity portfolio manager in 2021.

AXA IM hires emerging market debt manager from Columbia Threadneedle

The fund has failed to outperform the IA UK All Companies sector in the last five years, returning 12.4% compared to the sector's return of 24.5% during the same time period, according to data from FE fundinfo.

As of 6 December, the strategy had just over £600m in assets. According to Morningstar Direct, the fund reached its peak in assets under management in February 2014, when it held £4.9bn in assets.
