Brokerage giant, USI Insurance Services, has today announced the acquisition of Scheetz, Hogan, Freeman & Phillips (SHFP), a Greenville, South Carolina-based insurance agency that specializes in commercial insurance, employee benefits and personal risk solutions.
Since its inception in 1993, SHFP has grown into a prominent insurance agency in South Carolina. The firm’s president and CEO, Ronald D. Scheetz, said he is confident the partnership with one of the largest brokerage and risk management agencies in the world “will further strengthen [SHFP’s] long-standing reputation for delivering superior solutions, expertise and service”.
He described USI as “an established leader in the risk management, insurance brokerage and consulting market, known for their best-in-class solutions, including proprietary analytics, local and national resources, and a team-based planning approach.”
Following the deal, all of SHFP’s 24 staff will join USI under Scheetz’s continued leadership. He will also join USI’s Midsouth regional management team and serve as president of USI’s Greenville office.
James W. Dunn, USI Midsouth regional CEO, commented: “We’re thrilled to welcome Ron and the experienced professionals from Scheetz, Hogan, Freeman & Phillips to the USI family. By partnering as one, we look forward to serving our current and future clients throughout the Carolinas with the USI ONE Advantage, a unique platform that delivers innovative risk management and employee benefit solutions with bottom-line financial impact.”
