Tokio Marine HCC Appoints Co-global Marketing Leaders

Tokio Marine HCC appoints co-global marketing leaders

Tokio Marine HCC has named both Jeremy Barnett and Phelim Browne as co-global marketing leaders.

“We are pleased to unite the marketing efforts of Jeremy and Phelim to enhance our marketing programs and strengthen our brand identity in the specialty insurance marketplace,” commented Tokio Marine HCC CEO Susan Rivera on the appointments.

Rivera added that both Barnett and Browne will serve the US and international markets, respectively. They will help Tokio Marine build up its marketing services to not only advance the brand, but to support distribution partners across the globe as well.

Browne joined Tokio Marine HCC in January 2019 and is currently serving as head of marketing for the international group. He has over 20 years of marketing experience, having served roles of increasing responsibility in companies such as Willis Towers Watson, MMA Insurance/Covea Insurance, Brit Insurance, NIG and Independent Insurance.

Barnett also joined Tokio Marine HCC this year (in April), following the company’s acquisition of NAS Insurance Services. He was previously serving as the senior vice president of marketing and business development for NAS, which is now part of Tokio Marine’s cyber & professional lines group.

The two will report to Tokio Marine HCC executive vice president Thomas Harmeyer.

In a statement, Harmeyer said that Tokio Marine wants to harness Browne’s expertise to strengthen the company’s brand in Europe and the EMEA region. The EVP also mentioned that Barnett’s “intimate knowledge of specialty insurance” will help the company leverage effective marketing strategies across all of Tokio Marine’s lines of business.
