Liberty Specialty Markets Announces New President

Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM) has unveiled a new head for one of its divisions, announcing today that Ronald Bolaños (pictured) has been promoted to president of its US and Latin America unit, which focuses on specialty insurance and facultative reinsurance.
Bolaños comes into the position immediately and will now be responsible for expanding LSM’s footprint in the region by leading his team to develop specialized solutions for customers.
Before this new role, Bolaños was the chief underwriting officer for LSM Latin America. He has more than 20 years’ experience in the re/insurance industry and joined Liberty in 2012, following previous roles at Validus and AIG. He has worked in São Paulo, Santiago, and Miami in several senior positions in risk and underwriting in the energy sector.
Bolaños takes over from Alex Montoya, who was also moved into a new position and will now be COO of Liberty’s Global Risk Solutions North America division.
“I am delighted that this key role has gone to such a talented internal candidate,” said LSM president Matthew Moore. “He brings professionalism and energy to everything he does. Ronald has great knowledge of our markets and clients, a global mindset and a technical understanding of this business.”
