Davies Taps New Chief HR Officer

Specialist professional services and technology company Davies has appointed Emma Wedderburn as group chief human resources officer. Wedderburn will also join the company’s group executive committee.
Wedderburn is currently group people director at Capita Plc. Prior to that, she held various senior and international roles at Amec Foster Wheeler and Wood plc.
Wedderburn will take on her new role at Davies in January and will report to Dan Saulter, group CEO. In her new role, she will take on HR responsibilities for Davies’s more than 4,000 employees operating across the US, UK, Bermuda, Canada, and Ireland. She will also lead the company’s focus on diversity and inclusion and its global charitable activities. Wedderburn will join the firm’s diversity and inclusion board and become a trustee of the Davies Foundation, the company’s charitable arm.
“I am delighted that Emma is joining Davies at this pivotal point in our growth and development,” Saulter said. “Ensuring Davies is a great place to work is central to our success. We must continue to invest in our people, their development, and their success. This is the way we will continue to innovate and stay ahead of the pack. As we grow we must continue to challenge ourselves organizationally, ensuring we promote mobility and support our local communities.”
“I’m excited to be joining the Davies team and to be working alongside Dan as the business continues its global growth journey,” Wedderburn said. “Davies has a fantastic track record of promoting from within and investing in its people and their professional development. I’m pleased to be able to build upon these foundations as we focus on inclusion, diversity and our global charitable activities.”
Wedderburn is the latest in a spate of appointments Davies has made to its global leadership team this year. The company has also added Dr. Nneka Abulokwe OBE as non-executive director, James Heath as group chief risk officer, Jeff Chang as general counsel, and Matt Button as CEO of its US claims solutions business.
