BMS Boosts Energy Team

It’s a trio of new appointments for specialist reinsurance broker BMS Group.

The firm has swooped on three new names for its energy division – Alison Schwab, Russell Williams and Robert Thomas.

Schwab offers more than 20 years of experience from across the US and London markets, focusing on the energy and utilities business. She makes the switch from Marsh JLT Specialty, but her background also includes time spent at AIG, Alesco Risk Management Services and Wortham Insurance.

Meanwhile, Thomas specializes in thermal power and renewable energy fields having begun his career at Price Forbes & Partners, while Williams, who joins in July, specializes in general casualty and energy liability and was previously a managing director at JLT Specialty Bermuda.

All are now set to report to managing director of BMS Energy James Chicken and head of energy casualty Duncan Hayward.

“We are determined to attract the best talent to BMS Energy to ensure we continue to excel for our clients in these challenging times and deliver a broad access to markets in London, Europe and Bermuda,” said Chicken. “People like Robbie, Russell and Alison, whose combinations of experience, specialist expertise and relationships, continue to strengthen our team’s offering for our retailers and insureds. I am incredibly proud of our results so far but far more excited at what we can do from here, staying ahead of the changing needs of energy companies, with the skills, mentality and relationships to deliver outstanding results, in a challenging trading environment, across these sectors.”
