Berkshire Hathaway Announces Pair Of Promotions

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has revealed its appointment of Shelby Rootenberg and Megan Scully to its executive & professional lines claims group.
Rootenberg, who is based in BHSI’s New York office, has been named senior VP, head of US commercial lines (public) and financial institutions claims. She first joined BHSI in 2014 as assistant VP and head of financial lines claims after a decade spent in claims technical and management roles.
Scully, who is based in BHSI’s Chicago office, has been named senior VP, head of US commercial lines (private), professional and transactional liability claims. She came to BHSI in 2015 as VP of miscellaneous professional liability/cyber and private company claims after working as a claims director at a global property-casualty company.
Discussing these appointments, David Crowe, chief claims officer, BHSI noted that, with their newly expanded responsibilities, Rootenberg and Scully will be at the forefront in the successful delivery of the business’s ‘CLAIMS IS OUR PRODUCT’ philosophy to its executive & professional lines customers.
“They are excellent leaders and collaborators,” Crowe said, “and their exceptional technical acumen and experience will be of great benefit to our customers facing a claim.”
