Beazley bolsters executive risk team

Beazley has bolstered its executive risk team and expanded its US underwriting and claims presence in the US with several new hires.

Elizabeth Cassarino has joined the company’s Boston team as an underwriter. Most recently, Cassarino served as an executive risk underwriter at Chubb. She previously held a variety of positions at Ace.

Jeffrey Carney has also been hired as an underwriter in Boston. He previously served as a senior vice president at Aon Risk Solutions. He has also held roles at Travelers, CNA and The Hartford.

Allison Keenan, meanwhile, has joined the executive risk underwriting team in San Francisco. She previously served as a senior underwriter at Chubb.

In addition, Mia Hennessey has been appointed to Beazley’s New York underwriting team. Previously, she served as an assistant vice president in Zurich North America’s management solutions group. She has also held positions at Aon and Ace.

Greg Staron has also been appointed to the New York executive risk underwriting team. Staron joined Beazley in 2011 as an employment practices liability claims manager. He switched to underwriting in 2014, focusing primarily on healthcare management liability risks.

Finally, Melanie Saponara has been appointed to the New York executive risk claims team, and will primarily handle public-company directors and officers claims. She most recently served as a claims consultant at CNA. A member of the New York bar, Saponara has also worked at law firm Mendes & Mount, specializing in insurance and reinsurance law.

“In an environment of rapidly evolving corporate risks, businesses are now also faced with managing the impact of a global pandemic, social movements, diversity and inclusion together with recessionary fears, which has ushered in new ways of working, employment practices, business operations and regulations,” said Jeremie Saada, head of US executive risk at Beazley. “This requires insurance solutions that provide flexible, 360-degree protection for when businesses need it most and to help reduce the risk of claims occurring. As we focus on building out our offering, continuing to attract and develop talent is critical to our success. Our executive risk practice has built considerable momentum over the past several years, and we are delighted to welcome Jeff, Elizabeth, Mia, Allison, Greg and Melanie to our growing team.”
