AXA XL names client distribution leader for US south central region

AXA XL has appointed Roman E. Bernal as client distribution leader for the US south central region.

Bernal joins AXA XL’s broker and client management team in Houston, reporting to US south central regional leader Wayne Speeg. In his new role, Bernal will serve as one of the company’s “key points of contact” for both brokers and clients in the south central region.

He was most recently serving as a regional business development director for AIG in Houston. Bernal has also held positions with AON Risk Services, Brown & Brown and Travelers. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Houston and his MBA from the University of St. Thomas in Houston. Bernal holds a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriting (CPCU) designation.

"In our region, and especially in Texas, we see tremendous opportunity to grow AXA XL's presence and business here as we align with our broker partners to protect their clients' growing operations globally.  We're excited to expand our team with an industry talent like Roman," commented Speeg.

"Roman is well-known for his consultative and collaborative style, and ability to build strong working relationships.  We're eager to get 2019 off to a strong start, now also leveraging Roman's knowledge and relationships to drive growth for our underwriting teams, and in support of our brokers' and clients' objectives," Speeg added.
