Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited has appointed Crystal Ottaviano to serve as group chief risk officer, effective March 02, 2020.
In her new role, Ottaviano will report to Aspen Insurance executive chairman and group chief executive officer Mark Cloutier.

In that role, she was responsible for independent oversight of Swiss Re’s P&C reinsurance business in the region. Prior to serving as chief risk officer, Ottaviano held the role of senior vice-president, operational risk management at Swiss Re. Before that, she was head of risk management at Hiscox.
“Crystal is a highly experienced financial services professional who has led diverse teams to new levels of success in fast-paced environments,” commented Aspen executive chairman and group CEO Mark Cloutier.
Cloutier added that Aspen is delighted to welcome Ottaviano to the team – her proven ability to understand business needs and her experience developing financial/risk management strategies make her a “valuable addition” to the company’s leadership team.
