Aon Strikes Multi-platform Golf Partnership With The Ryder Cup

Aon has announced that it has entered a multi-year agreement with the Ryder Cup – one of the most prestigious golf competitions in the world.
By entering the agreement, Aon becomes a Worldwide Partner of the next three Ryder Cups. The 2020 Ryder Cup will be held on September 25 to 27, at the Whistling Straits golf course in Kohler, WI; the 2022 Ryder Cup will be at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Rome, Italy; and the 2024 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, NY.
Starting next year, the Ryder Cup and Aon will introduce a “multi-platform partnership” that focuses on the “risk reward narrative” of the major sporting event, a release said. Aon’s risk/reward insights will be integrated into the global broadcast of the golf tournament. The professional services firm will work together with the Ryder Cup’s official broadcast partners NBC, Golf Channel and Sky Sports to showcase the defining moments of the tournament, while providing fans an inside look at how the teams participating in the event develop a winning strategy.
A new award will also be unveiled during next year’s tournament which celebrates those highlighted defining moments.
Exclusive onsite hospitality will be extended to Aon’s clients and colleagues, as part of the partnership.
“Aon is known around the world as a trusted advisor because their insights consistently provide clients with a competitive edge,” said PGA of America CEO Seth Waugh.
“We are delighted to welcome such a prestigious company as Aon to the partner family of the Ryder Cup,” added European Ryder Cup director Guy Kinnings, who remarked that the partnership felt like the right decision – the same way Aon helps companies around the world in making critical business decisions.
“When you have the opportunity to innovate alongside The Ryder Cup, it’s really special,” mentioned Aon chief marketing officer Andy Weitz. “The Ryder Cup is one of the most iconic sporting events in the world and the decisions that are made on the course, make history.”
