More Than 500 Jobs Announced Across Ireland This Week

There were many exciting roles announced in Ireland this week and, with them, a number of opportunities to achieve your career ambitions.

It is always heartening to see a lot of jobs being announced across the country. Not only is it a harbinger of economic progress, but it gives people a chance either to enter into their dream industry or make an exciting career change.

The largest announcement this week came from UK pharmaceuticals company Wasdell, which announced that it will create 300 new positions over the next five years in Dundalk and construct a 70,000 sq ft greenfield facility at IDA Ireland’s site in Mullagharlin, Dundalk.

Meanwhile, American consumer credit reporting agency Equifax revealed it will hire 150 new staff at its Dublin premises, just a year after opening it.

Also hoping to expand its Dublin base, Md7 announced that it will offer 40 roles in north Dublin.

Those despairing at the Leinster-centrism can rest assured that there were opportunities available in the south of the country, too. Irish cloud computing provider Strencom will add 20 jobs in Dublin and Cork, and has committed €6m to two to three acquisitions in the coming years.

All of the excitement about applying for and possibly being offered a new job can make it easy to forget that a job offer is just the beginning. Once you’re in the door, the question of how to excel in your position and truly make your mark can be difficult, potentially even stressful. Luckily, Hays’ Dan Rodriguez has compiled this handy guide outlining some simple(ish) steps to achieving your career dreams.
