Swedens Famed Treehotel Is Getting A New Suite – Heres What To Expect

When it comes to bucket list hotels, we would say Sweden’s Treehotel is right up there for many travellers.

First opened in 2010, the design focused property in Harads is known for its unique architecture, with no two rooms that are alike.

Some of our favourites include the Mirrorcube, the UFO, and the Biosphere, which features around 350 birdhouses, bringing nature right up to your bedroom window.

We’re not the only fans, either – celebrity guests over the years have included Kate Moss, Elijah Woods and Justin Bieber.

Now a new suite is set to open at Treehotel on 10 August.

Designed by architects Nadén & Lind, the private forest suite features walls that curve around the trunks that are meant to direct your attention upwards. Given the hotel is just 50 kilometres below the Arctic Circle, meaning Northern Lights in winter and midnight sun in the summer, we’re certainly not complaining.

Oasis can sleep five people, with one double bed, one sofa double bed and one single fold down bed.

There’s also an outdoor area complete with a private sauna and hot tub.

“By limiting the field of vision, other senses are heightened: sounds become clearer, scents more immediate, and the remaining views more intense,” Per Nadén and Mattias Lind said of their design.

“What emerges is a quiet, sheltered oasis, where guests can dwell in stillness, share a meal, or sink into a warm bath beneath the old trees of Harads.”

Aside from enjoying the views, Treehotel offers plenty of seasonal activities, including horse riding, reindeer and moose visits, dining on the frozen Lule River and hunting for the northern lights.
