Solar Eclipses To Star Signs: Where You Should Travel In 2026 According To An Astrologer

The stars are increasingly influencing the way we plan getaways - and not just because it's set to be a bumper year for supermoons and eclipses.

Fourty-seven per cent of travellers would change or cancel a trip if a spiritual advisor recommended it, according to Booking.com's 2026 Travel Predictions Report, based on a survey of almost 30,000 people from 33 countries. And 43 per cent would reconsider trips based on a horoscope warning.

This trend especially resonates with Gen Z and millennial travellers "because they want to disconnect and enjoy personalised experiences in tune with their wellbeing and moment in life," explains a Booking.com spokesperson.

Why Spain is a hub for celestial travel in 2026

Spain will be especially popular this year with travellers planning trips around the 12 August solar eclipse. Booking.com has already seen a 260 per cent jump in A Coruña trips, 170 per cent in León and 120 per cent in Burgos.

The country is set to witness another solar eclipse on 2 August 2027 and the annular solar eclipse on 26 January 2028.

To celebrate this uptick in celestial adventures, the travel platform has teamed up with renowned Spanish astrologer Esperanza Gracia to help travellers align their 2026 journeys with their horoscopes.

"In uncertain times, it provides a different way of connecting with travel and with oneself," says the astrologer.

Where should you go in Europe this year, according to an astrologer?

From an astrological perspective, 2026 will be marked by active energies that will particularly favour short, conscious journeys and the exploration of less usual destinations, says Gracia.

The best destinations will be those that "allow us to reconnect with our emotions and foster fulfilment and inner peace", she adds.

Ireland, Portugal, Italy, Scotland, the Netherlands and Spain "are in harmony with this year's astral energy", according to Gracia.

The areas that bring the most harmony and growth, meanwhile, are Southern Europe (Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain) for their "combination of history, art and inspiring landscapes" and the northwest of the continent (England, Scotland, Norway and Denmark) for their "mystical places and ancient history that stimulate creativity and introspection".

But which destinations will connect the most with each zodiac sign, both in Europe and globally?

Aires chases action while Taurus seeks comfort

Aries tends to look for active and dynamic trips, where nature and adventure play a central role, says Gracia. Destinations such as Iceland, Costa Rica, the Canary Islands or the Picos de Europa fit their need for movement and exploration.

Taurus, meanwhile, associates travel with conscious enjoyment. They prioritise comfort, gastronomy and peaceful surroundings. Tuscany, La Rioja, Japan or the Greek Islands respond to their search for balance and pleasure, she says.

Gemini sparks curiosity while Cancer searches for emotion

Gemini sees travel as an opportunity to discover and learn, according to Gracia. They prefer urban and cultural destinations, with possibilities for constant change. London, Amsterdam, Madrid or Tokyo stimulate their curiosity.

Cancer travels in search of emotional well-being, she continues. They feel comfortable in welcoming destinations close to water. Bali, Asturias, the Balearic Islands or the Amalfi Coast offer the calm environment they need.

Leo delves into history while Virgo yearns balance

Leo favours special and memorable trips, says Gracia. They value destinations with character, history or a certain glamour. Paris, Rome, New York, Ibiza or the Maldives suit their way of experiencing travel.

Virgo seeks order, calm and balance. They prefer well-organised destinations, with nature or cultural heritage. The Dolomites, the Pyrenees, Bruges or Morocco allow you to disconnect with structure, Gracia advises.

Libra looks for harmony while Scorpio wants transformation

Libras are attracted to destinations for their harmony and aesthetics, says Gracia. They feel at ease in well-kept places with a serene rhythm. Florence, Santorini, Kyoto or Granada connect with their sensitivity.

Scorpios, on the other hand, understand travel as a transformative experience. They look for destinations with emotional or spiritual depth. Lanzarote, Cappadocia, the Atacama Desert or Marrakech respond to this need for introspection, according to Gracia.

Sagittarius seeks adventure while Capricorn prefers planning

Sagittarius travellers want to broaden their horizons, says Gracia. Learning and discovery are key. India, Nepal, Greece or the Camino de Santiago connect with their explorer spirit.

Capricorn prefers structured and purposeful travel, she adds. They value history, tranquillity and planning. Rome, Salamanca, the Alps or Menorca offer a balance between relaxation and culture.

Aquarius eyes innovation while Pisces looks inwards

Aquarius is attracted to innovative and unconventional destinations, says Gracia. Berlin, Reykjavik, New Zealand or Tokyo allow you to explore new perspectives.

Pisces travels to reconnect with themselves, on the other hand. They look for peaceful, natural environments with a spiritual dimension. Formentera, Bali, Kyoto or the Ribeira Sacra favour this search for calm, says Gracia.

Whether or not you believe your destiny's written in the stars, 2026 promises to be filled with meaningful travel experiences if you look not only at the map but inwards... and a little bit towards the sky.
