Proof that money doesn’t buy driving skills or common sense was displayed in a Mallorca street by an expat British millionaire who wrecked his Roller by reversing it into a large plate glass window.
Jody Sanders and his two bikini-clad South American passengers weren’t expecting to have to do a runner during their trip around Magaluf in the millionaire playboy’s luxurious Rolls Royce. Formerly resident in the upscale English county of Warwickshire, Jody was well known in the resort for his social media boasts about his wealth, posting videos of himself at the wheel of the Roller with a bottle of champagne. It’s believed he divides his time between his luxury villa on Mallorca and the UK, and divides his driving time between a Mercedes Sport, a Lamborghini and the unfortunate Rolls Royce.
Just before the crash, the manager of a nearby restaurant spotted the car, being driven by Jody whilst the two scantily clad beauties danced to the blaring music and took selfies. The Roller stopped for a few minutes in a nearby supermarket car park before reversing up the road at high speed. It hit the curb just outside the restaurant, spun around and cannoned into a large plate glass window fronting a tobacco shop. By the time police arrived with a breathalyser, Jody and the girls were long gone.
The Rolls Royce has since been impounded and, according to the owner of the tobacco shop, Jody has been in touch with her by phone about insurance. He told her his sandal-shod foot had become tangled up with the pedals, and apologised for the trouble he’d caused. Local police are still searching for Jody and his two companions, but haven’t been successful so far. According to another local expat, the word is that he’ll probably be let off after he pays a fine for dangerous driving, but right now all the astonished community is getting is hearsay and the fact Jody and his two friends are apparently still missing.
