Cronos (CRO) Unveils ZkEVM Bridge Initiative

Blockchain platform Cronos (CRO) has announced the launch of its new zkEVM Bridge campaign, offering users the opportunity to earn points by bridging CRO tokens from Ethereum and Cronos EVM. This initiative is part of the Cronos zkEVM Pioneer Program, which aims to encourage participation and reward early adopters, according to the official announcement.

The zkEVM Journey

The Cronos zkEVM project and its associated decentralized applications (dApps) have initiated the Cronos zkEVM Passage campaign. This campaign marks the final stage before the mainnet launch, where users can bridge their assets to Cronos zkEVM and earn loyalty points as rewards. Veno Finance will facilitate the bridge services.

Users who bring CRO from Ethereum or lock up or stake CRO/LCRO on the Cronos EVM can accumulate points through the Cronos zkEVM Bridge, making them eligible for the Cronos zkEVM Pioneer Program. Additionally, these points can be claimed for extra rewards in participating dApps.

Campaign Details

Duration: From July 4 until the zkEVM mainnet launch.

Eligible Tokens: CRO (from Ethereum/Cronos EVM) and LCRO (from Cronos EVM).

To participate, users need to visit the Cronos zkEVM Bridge page and lock up or stake their assets. The CRO/LCRO tokens will be converted to zkCRO and locked in a multi-signature contract until the mainnet launch, expected in Q3 2024. Upon launch, zkCRO will be available for use on the Cronos zkEVM network.

Early participants will enjoy several benefits:

1. Receive zkCRO ready for mainnet use.
2. Accumulate early support points in the Cronos zkEVM Pioneer Program.
3. Earn staking rewards on their CRO, with more zkCRO available for earlier participants.

Eligibility for Participation

Anyone holding CRO on the Ethereum mainnet or Cronos EVM can join the campaign. Those with CRO on exchanges can withdraw to the Ethereum mainnet (ERC20) to participate. The campaign encourages users to spread the word and invite friends to join this journey.

Point Accumulation

A few weeks after the campaign's start, the Cronos zkEVM Pioneer Program web page will go live. Users can connect their wallets to monitor their accumulated points.
