Accor is set to open the second UK property under its midscale lifestyle TRIBE brand in the coming months.
Plans for TRIBE Manchester Airport were first announced in 2020, with the 412-room hotel being located on Chicago Avenue within the Airport City Manchester development, around 400 metres from Manchester airport’s Terminal 2.
A press release from Accor states that the nine-storey property will be unveiled in the spring, while the hotel’s webpage currently shows an opening date of June 2024.
Facilities will include a fitness centre, crew lounge for airport staff, and an all day dining pizza restaurant.
Accor acquired Australian hotel group Mantra in 2018, and with it a sole existing hotel in Perth under the TRIBE name. The group subsequently announced plans to roll out the brand as a four-star midscale offering.
The first TRIBE hotel in the UK opened in London’s Canary Wharf in 2022.
Accor opened the 262-room Ibis Budget Manchester Airport in late 2022, located on Palma Avenue within walking distance of the airport’s terminals and rail, tram, bus and coach station.
