Preferred Hotels & Resorts celebrated its 50th anniversary in the Asia Pacific this year.  The US-based brand has entered its 16th year in India and has announced that it will add ten hotels in the country by 2020.

“We are confident of adding 10 hotels in India in next two years, by end of 2020. The pipeline is very strong in India. The company may expand in places where it is already present such as Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Bengaluru, and also enter new destinations such as Jodhpur and Agra,” says Saurabh Rai, executive vice president at Preferred Hotels & Resorts.

The new hotels are going to be introduced under its LVX, Lifestyle and Connect Collections.

Earlier this year, the company had announced new enhancements to its ‘I Prefer Hotel’ Rewards programme and a year long Golden Anniversary package, offering themed activities and discounts to guests staying at participating hotels worldwide.

The company also plans to grow its Preferred Residences collection in India.

“We have aggressive growth plans for 2018. Our strategy is about making sure we have the right hotels in the right markets, and we have a very specific plan on how to go about developing that pipeline,” says Lindsey Ueberroth, CEO at Preferred Hotels. “Right now, we have about 2.5 million engaged members in our I Prefer loyalty programme and we plan to add half a million members to the programme by the end of this year. We believe we fulfil a unique niche through our collection of 70 Preferred Residences properties and we plan to add 30 new properties in the residential space, besides entering new markets.”
