Emirates says it will have served 500,000 Christmas meals on its flights by the end of December, along with festive treats for younger passengers and premium customers.

The carrier will begin offering its Christmas menu from December 9, with the festive fare running until December 31.

The menu will be served on routes to Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Europe, the US, South Africa and the Philippines.

Economy passengers will be offered turkey slices with mashed potato, green peas, baby carrots and cranberry jus lié, followed by milk chocolate mousse topped with a festive chocolate button.

Meanwhile business and first class customers can opt for roasted turkey breast and apricot stuffing, roast potatoes with creamy brussels sprouts with turkey bacon and cranberry jus lié, followed by a Santa inspired chocolate cake or a chocolate gingerbread cake.
