First passengers on the carrier’s flagship route to New York JFK will be offered Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame 2015 (from 1 March until the end of the year), and from this month guests visiting the Concorde Room at Heathrow T5 will be able to sample Pommery Cuvée Louise 2006.

The Champagnes were chosen by Tim Jackson, who was employed as BA’s full-time Master of Wine in late 2022.

The airline also highlighted work being carried out to upgrade its First Wing security at T5 – as previously reported the facility is currently closed while new CT scanners are installed, and BA said that it would reopen “in the coming months”.

“We know how important food and drink is for our customers both on the ground and in the air, as we served around one million bottles of bubbles last year alone,” said Jackson.

“We spent a long time carefully curating a rotation of the highest quality to meet our customers’ expectations. We look forward to hearing feedback from our frequent flyers about their favourite Champagne and we will continue to evolve our offering.”
