The long-awaited Art’otel London Hoxton will finally open next month.

PPHE Hotel Group previously announced a March 2024 opening date, but has now stated that there will be a phased opening from 24 April.

Business Traveller first reported on plans for the hotel way back in 2008, and planning consent was granted by Hackney Council for an improved and final development scheme in 2019, with funding secured in 2020.

Located on Rivington Street at the junction with Old Street and Great Eastern Street, around five minutes’ walk from Old Street rail and Underground station, the hotel’s exterior features a cogwheel design conceived by Squire & Partners.

All 357 rooms will include “skyline views” and interiors will feature works by urban artist D*Face, while two original Banksy artworks will also be on public display. Next month will also see the opening of the ground and first floor dining venues The Brush, an all-day cafe, and the Lounge & Cocktail Bar with an outdoor terrace.

On the leisure side, guests will be able to enjoy facilities such as an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and gym.

Guests will have to wait slightly longer for some of the hotel’s additional facilities. The 25th floor destination restaurant will launch later in the year, complete with outdoor terraces offering panoramic views of London, while summer will see the opening of various flexible event spaces with capacity for up to 300 guests – including a 60-seat auditorium.

A skyline gym on the 26th floor will also open this summer, as well as a spa with four treatment rooms and products from organic skincare brand Proverb.
