Members of Aer Lingus’s AerClub can now use Avios to reduce the price of flights.

They will be offered money-off options determined by their Avios balance when booking flights on aerlingus.com or the airline’s app. This will reduce the total basket cost, including ancillaries such as priority boarding, checked baggage, or seat selection.

Avios is the loyalty programme ‘currency’ also used by International Airlines Group members British Airways, Iberia and Vueling, and it is possible to link accounts.

Susanne Carberry, Director of Network Revenue and Loyalty at Aer Lingus, said: “‘Pay with Avios’ is a significant benefit for our AerClub members, who can now avail of tangible rewards for their loyalty.”

AerClub reached one million members in November 2018.

Aer Lingus rebranded with a new logo and livery at the start of the year, with incoming CEO Sean Doyle reaffirming its commitment to becoming a leading carrier on transatlantic routes.
